Preparing for Retirement
and Beyond

The first speaker at the seminar , Val Silvers, Course Director, Pre-Retirement Council, Nottingham dealt with the many issues those about to retire face. Among much else she stressed the need to money manage, anticipate change and have goals.

Fariq Kallow, from the Department of Work & Pensions explained how state pensions are calculated, how to find out entitlement and outlined ways to enhance pensions.

Rebecca Lee, Solicitor, covered issues concerning Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and steps that can be taken to minimize Inheritance Tax.

Anne Halsey, Funeral Director, Co-operative Funeral Service regaled the audience with amusing incidents. However, the serious message was; make sure your relatives know how you would like your funeral to be conducted.
