A one-day seminar on maternity services
was held 6 September 2007 in Birmingham in association
with the National Association for Nurses in Contraception
and Sexual Health (an NCW Affiliated Society) and
with support from Royal College of Midwives, the Health
Committee Seminar will clarify the current problems in
contraception, sexual health, sub-fertility and the
provision of high standards and choice in midwifery.
The venue
was the Mary Seacole
Building, University of Central England, Edgbaston,
Birmingham.
The day was chaired by Dame Lorna Muirhead, Lord
Lieutenant of Merseyside, (Past President of the Royal
College of Midwives) and the speakers were all hands-on in
their fields – including the team of midwives who care for
the less advantaged women in Birmingham. The
NCW Health Committee will now be able to refine their proposed Resolutions
for an up-to-the minute approach to Government. |
