Research and policy discussion
documents are prepared by specialist committees covering the
arts, consumers, education, employment, health, media, science
and technology, transport, housing and social issues.

How
is policy decided?
At
an annual two or three-day conference, policy resolutions are debated by
members and affiliated society representatives. Successful
resolutions must be ratified by the Council Members at the Annual
General Meeting at the end of the Conference. [MORE]

happens next?
Resolutions are
presented to government and other bodies. NCW at all levels works
continuously to promote its policy through society and to urge
government to effect change where necessary.
