The Social and Employment Issues special interest group deals with problems which
arise as a result of the
changing lifestyles in our society.
At
recent meetings there have been speakers on care homes and care in
the community, on national and international work on violence
against women and girls, and new developments in
children's centres and SureStart.
Regular reports are given on the latest developments on topics such as
'women in decision making', family issues, employment issues,
and 'offenders and victims'.
The current work plan is to consider:
• Changes in social security provisions • Women and the law,
prisons
• Prostitution • Women and employment • Carers • Employment and ageism • Violence against women and children • Anti-social behaviour • Child poverty
Any woman who is
interested in sharing her views or gaining information about current
social and employment issues is welcome to make contact and attend
our meetings |
